At House of Ekam, craft is the backbone of everything we do. From reinventing many indigenous craft techniques to reviving forgotten Indian Handicrafts, our range of curtains features many techniques like Hand Blockprint, Bandhani, Khadi, Dabu, Handloom, Solid, Ruffle etc. Blockprinting is one of our favourites and also a perennial category for us at House Of Ekam.
One of the most prevalent crafts in India and for us at House of Ekam, majority of our designs feature gorgeous sanganeri inspired blockprints originated in Jaipur. Blockprinting as a technique requires skill and precision with each block carved from wood by master artisans. Once the block is carved, they are dipped in oil and a color of our choice is prepared. Any blockprint can range from 2-10 colours depending upon the complexity of the design. For curtains we take inspiration from flora and fauna and each block is dipped in the color and repeated rounds of the block is pressed on the fabric to perfect the design. Once the fabric is ready, we at our own warehouse stitch curtains in available lengths and fitting options

Does the blockprint fade with time?
No, the blockprint wouldn’t fade with time. Please hand wash/machine wash in cold water and the colours won’t fade.
Do the curtains shrink after washing?
No all our curtains have been preshrunk and they don’t shrink after washing. However please keep a tolerance of +/- 1inch.
Can I customize the curtain sizes?
Yes the curtain size can be completely customized according to your height and width preference.
