Made in an ethical, fair trade environment and rooted in local tradition, this golapi (pink) and haladi (yellow) sabai grass basket was handwoven by groups of women in small communities across Orissa. Each textural piece has been crafted by hand and has taken weeks to perfect.

Our Sabai collection has taken years to conceptualize and implement. Finding grass suited for indian homes and more importantly an Indian community of women weaving baskets in an ethical manner was particularly hard to find.

These baskets are multi functional, use them to put your veggies, hang them as a piece of art, use as storage for towels or just decorate them in your shelves.

Absolutely Wonderful Company

I ordered a variety of items from House of Ekam and am extremely pleased with the quality of both the fabrics and stitching. I had to exchange a few of the clothing items and it was super easy. As well, I ordered 2 pairs of pajamas and the bottoms did not fit at all. I was in email contact with Tanvi and she went over and above to help me get the bottoms to the measurements I wanted by having me send her the exact measurements. In a little over a week, the high quality pajama bottoms we remade and sent back to me. I am very impressed with House of Ekam, Tanvi and my whole shopping experience and satisfaction. Thank you!
