Rooted in the rich craft heritage of Lucknow, our Chikankari curtain collection celebrates the beauty of embroidery made slowly, one stitch at a time.

Each curtain begins with a motif blockprinted onto the fabric, which is then painstakingly embroidered by hand using a needle. From delicate paisleys and graceful lotuses to tiny poppies, every motif takes approximately 10 minutes to stitch, while a single metre of fabric can take nearly a full day to embroider.

Created in collaboration with our cluster of 30 Chikankari artisans in Lucknow, the collection is a tribute to the skill, patience and generations of knowledge behind this exquisite craft. With a rich vocabulary of traditional stitches, including Bakhiya, Phanda and Murri, Chikankari is celebrated for its delicate textures and understated elegance.

Flourishing under Mughal patronage and later becoming synonymous with the refined culture of the Nawabs of Awadh, Lucknow Chikankari carries a legacy of timeless grace. With this collection, House Of Ekam brings the craft beyond apparel and into the home, transforming a centuries-old embroidery tradition into curtains that bring quiet detail and character to your space.
