Our SABAI collection features designs that look great as a set on the wall or as individual baskets on your coffee table or on your nightstand to store trinkets. Each sabai basket is handwoven by a group of women artisans in rural Odisha in a fair trade environment. Depending upon complexity of the patterns, each basket takes 6 hours- 3 days to make.

Women artisans make our baskets in comfort of their homes or in groups at allocated centers. SABAI is handmade at its finest. With the aspiration to bring African baskets to the Indian market, our search for made in India baskets ended with Odisha in 2018. We work with 200+ women artisans empowering them with a considerable hike in their regular income thus providing improved living conditions, access to healthcare etc.

*Note: Made-to-order or made-to-measure products (curtains, women’s clothing, kid’s clothing, cushions, etc.) will be shipped within 7 – 10 working days. Rugs will be shipped in 30-45 working days.

Shipping charges: Free shipping on all orders above Rs. 1,000. Shipping charges of Rs. 99 on orders less than Rs. 1,000.

COD details: COD available on all orders from Rs. 1,000 to Rs. 10,000. COD charges of Rs. 99 will be applicable.

Please note - COD orders are shipped only after telephonic confirmation by the customer. Customers who don’t accept COD order once, will not be served COD facility henceforth.

Refund, Return & Exchanges

Return policy: We accept returns* within 7 calendar days of receipt of the product(s). Please whatsapp or email us at +91 93133 62755 or contact@houseofekam.com.

Please ensure that the products are in their original condition and packaging. Item(s) showing signs of usage will not be eligible for returns or exchange. We reserve the right to inspect the product(s) before processing returns or exchange. For eligible orders, reverse pickup from the shipping address will be free of cost.

Refund details: Refund will be issued as Store Credit only.

Exchange details (Only applicable for size-related issue in women’s clothing & kid’s clothing within 7 days of receipt of product): First exchange of a product is free of cost. Every subsequent exchange will attract a shipping fee of Rs. 199 per instance.

How do I know that my Order has been confirmed?

Once you have completed the payment, you will be navigated to the “Thank You” page on our website where you will be provided the order confirmation details. You will also receive an e-mail confirmation on your registered e-mail id.

What are the Shipping charges?

We offer free shipping on all orders with value above Rs. 1,000. Shipping charges of Rs. 99 will be applicable on orders with value less than Rs. 1,000.

Absolutely love my woven baskets. I have been searching high and low for these in New York, and let me tell you, the quality I have found has been subpar in comparison to these from Houseofekam. The colors and the dyes chosen are exquisite. The wool used to craft these, instead of the plastic/ dyed wicker I have been accustomed to buying/seeing sold in stores or by local street vendors makes all the difference. The price point was also incredible. I have fought for this price point for less impressive baskets. I will definitely be ordering more in the future. Thank you for your superior product!
