Walls have the highest viewable surface area and beyond wall paintings, photo frames and more recently wall paper, walls largely go unnoticed while planning the interior décor. We were inspired by boho style African handwoven baskets to create more interesting spaces with walls being the centerpiece. With the aspiration to bring African baskets to the Indian market, our search for made in India baskets ended with Odisha in 2018.

A collection of nine handwoven baskets by skilled artisans in different shades, patterns, and sizes is a reminder that when everyone brings their uniqueness to the table, it only leaves room for magic and joy! Every twist of the dried grass portrays the passion and devoted labour of our women artisans in Odisha. Each basket takes 6 hours to 1 day to make depending upon the complexity of the design speaking volumes about the craft.

SABAI 4.0 features bolder colours and takes the design element in our baskets up a notch. From abstract to evergreen flowers to spirals, each basket has been thoughtfully designed to bring out the best in your homes. Our SABAI collection features designs that look great as a set on the wall or as individual baskets on your coffee table or on your nightstand to store trinkets. Sabai baskets make as a great gift to your loved ones this festive season also.

Although it is always our endeavor to perfect our craft, as the baskets are 100% hand woven, some irregularities light and dark pigmentation, little smudges / stretchmarks are possible. Imperfections remind us of the human element behind the creation, capturing the craftsman's personal style, emotions, and experiences

Absolutely Wonderful Company

I ordered a variety of items from House of Ekam and am extremely pleased with the quality of both the fabrics and stitching. I had to exchange a few of the clothing items and it was super easy. As well, I ordered 2 pairs of pajamas and the bottoms did not fit at all. I was in email contact with Tanvi and she went over and above to help me get the bottoms to the measurements I wanted by having me send her the exact measurements. In a little over a week, the high quality pajama bottoms we remade and sent back to me. I am very impressed with House of Ekam, Tanvi and my whole shopping experience and satisfaction. Thank you!
